im not 100% sure but id assume that itd be illegal to fire people based on political affiliation, i guess itd be hard to prove that the sackings occurred on those grounds though, sorry to hear about it though

Yeah it is, pretty explicitly so in unfair dismissal and anti-discrimination statutes. I hope someone takes them on for this bullshit.

kind of difficult to prove though given the sheer quantity of sackings that are taking place.

How?!

newman govt had a list of names they wanted out of the public service due to their ties with the labor party (however minor those ties are/were), and they got their wish. 1 guy who got culled was an entry level advisor about a decade ago, another really close friend was on the labor party payroll over 6 years ago and got cut.

quite ruthless.

half of my friends from work got sacked by Newman today so everyone consumed beer and cried at the pub for 5 hours. it was easily one of the saddest days of my life so far.

and to top it off a number of them got the sack due to their affiliation with the labor party…

If I was a Member of Parliament I’d introduce a bill which requires that hot chip sandwiches form the base of every food pyramid diagram published in Australia.

Osama Bin Laden, the heroic anti-Soviet warrior, the humanitarian with large-scale building projects in Sudan, the glorious crusader against a godless Stalinist state.
The irony of history right here.
